Development of Rural Infrastructure

The focus of this component of the KARIER programme will be on rural Infrastructure that supports job creation and add value to locally available raw materials, but also those that improve rural livelihood. The approach to identifying critical rural infrastructure has been a bottom-up one, where a Ward Development Community (WDC) is set-up in each of the 361 Wards across the state with the responsibility of recommending the direst infrastructural need of their community. Between 2 and 3 small to medium-scale projects are expected to be completed in each of the 361 Wards of the State during the first phase of the KARIER programme.
